There’s few things quite as frustrating as booking a rental car to only then discover a better deal somewhere else. Not only is it frustrating at the time, the feeling can linger day-in day-out as you drive around in your rental car thinking “I know I’m paying $10 a day more than I need to.”
Our Price Promise is our promise to you that should you find a better price elsewhere — for the exact same car hire deal — we’ll not only refund you the difference, but add AUD $20 to it.
Our Price Promise applies only to the cost of your car rental. The following are examples of car hire features that are not subject to the Price Promise:
Submitting the Price Promise form does not guarantee you will qualify for our Price Promise. We will contact you by email within two business days, and if you do qualify, upon the completion of your VroomVroomVroom car rental, and payment in full to your car rental provider, we will arrange your payment. We will make one Price Promise payment for one competing offer per completed booking; multiple applications for a Price Promise payment for the same VroomVroomVroom booking will not be considered. If you submit multiple applications, only the first one will be considered.
Our Price Promise applies where your VroomVroomVroom car rental booking and the alternative booking satisfy all of the following points. Both bookings must be:
The competing booking must also be:
The following are not eligible for the Price Promise:
We created our Price Promise to show you that at VroomVroomVroom we walk the talk — when we say our prices are competitive, we mean it.
We pull in rental deals from respected hire car providers to show you their most competitive retail rates, meaning you don’t need to look at any other hire car website. You should be able to trust us, to know that there is no need for you to spend your valuable time looking elsewhere for a better price. If you’re able to find a better deal elsewhere online, something isn’t working as it should be.
In all likelihood your Price Promise request will be unsuccessful — because when you booked your hire car through VroomVroomVroom you actually did get the most competitive deal available online.
A car is a car is a car right? A chunk of steel and aluminium with four wheels. Broad strokes this is accurate, but the devil is in the detail — and when it comes to how hire car providers price their rental car rates, these details matter. Our Price Promise is all about an apples to apples comparison, if one feature is different, it’s apples to oranges, and our Price Promise won’t apply. See the following FAQs for six of the most common differences to keep in mind.
Pre-paid hire cars (where you pay the full or some of the cost of the rental at the time of booking) may have a lower price than pay later options, however they may also have non-refundable deposits or cancellation fees, and you could find yourself out of pocket, or trying to navigate complicated refund policies, if your plans change.
Pay Later hire car options on VroomVroomVroom offer ultimate flexibility - no credit card is required to make a booking and no cancellation fees apply if you change your mind. Pre-paid deals are not eligible for the Price Promise.
If you’re looking at a pre-paid rate on VroomVroomVroom, and you find a cheaper pre-paid rate elsewhere be sure to read the fine print. Where VroomVroomVroom offers a pre-paid rate it generally has bundled value adds like reduced excess fees for damages, free airport shuttles, or unlimited kilometres. The price could be more because of the added inclusions, if it’s not, please let us know.
The two bookings need to be made on the same day. Likewise the rental period needs to be for the same period. By this we mean both the day and time for both collection and drop-off. On VroomVroomVroom the collection and drop-off times default to 10:00 am, but this might not be the same for others — Hertz for example defaults to midday for both, Budget has 09:00 am for both, and Sixt has collection at 12:30 pm and drop-off at 08:30 am.
The rental car industry groups vehicles by “class” and it is essential that the two deals are for the same class of vehicle. For example, a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Camry are different classes of vehicle — the Corolla is an “intermediate car” and the Camry could be a “Standard” or “Full size” car.
Your Price Promise request must compare deals from the same rental car provider. Hire car providers set their own pricing and a cheaper price for a Corolla on the Avis website when compared to a Corolla from Hertz on the VroomVroomVroom website won’t be eligible for our Price Promise
The collection and drop-off locations need to be identical. Different suburbs in the same city are not the same.
Prices for optional extras, including extra drivers, GPS units, car seats, and excess reduction insurance are not subject to our Price Promise. The competing deal must also be a “standalone car hire deal” meaning that it isn’t a part of a bigger holiday package such as a hotel or flight booking that includes a rental car for an additional price.
