If you like your road trips with plenty of space to spare, enormous night skies, and monumental attractions, Australia’s Northern Territory belongs on your short list.
The territory’s capital, Darwin, sits way up north, while one of the premiere attractions, Uluru, is way down south. Though don’t be too keen to leave Darwin in the dust — instead consider using it as a base to explore closer destinations including Kakadu or Litchfield national parks.
When you do get around to driving to Uluru, don’t forget Alice Springs! Once you’ve experienced the beauty of Uluru, why not keep on driving south? With two weeks you could drive all the way from Darwin to Adelaide —now that’s a road trip and a half!
